NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS OF HEARING ON REESTABLISHING CUMULATIVE
CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT FUND
Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of the Town of Argos, Marshall County, Indiana, that the Town Council will consider at the Argos Municipal Building, 201 W Walnut Street, Argos, Indiana 46501 at 7:00 pm on March 26, 2025, the reestablishment of a Cumulative Capital Development Fund under the provisions of Indiana Code 36-9-15.5 for all uses as set out in IC 36-9-15.5.
The tax will be levied on all taxable real and personal property within the taxing district and will not exceed $0.0500 per $100 of assessed valuation beginning with taxes payable in 2026 and thereafter, continuing until reduced or rescinded.
Taxpayers appearing at such hearing shall have the right to be heard thereon. The proposal for reestablishment of the Cumulative Capital Development Fund is subject to approval by the Department of Local Government Finance.
Within 30 days after the date of the adoption of the cumulative fund by the Town Council, the Town of Argos will publish a Notice of Adoption. Upon publication of the Notice of Adoption, 50 or more taxpayers in the taxing district may file a petition with the County Auditor not later than noon 30 days after the publication of the Notice of Adoption setting forth their objections to the proposed fund.

Effective immediately with Ordinance 2024-13 all utility payments must be received by 11:59pm on the 15th and the 28th of the month. Any payments received after this time are considered late. The Clerks office employees don't have the authority to make exceptions to this policy. Any request for a Utility Board Hearing will need to be done by the 21st of the month it is requested. Requests after this date will be denied. All load limiter request must be made by the 28th of the month. If a payment is not made on the 28th of the month the utilities will be disconnected on the next business day. There will also be up to an $80 fee once placed on the disconnection list. There will be no reconnections on any holiday. After hours service is for emergencies only.
